Islamabad: The delegation of European Union will reach at Islamabad this week to review Generalized System of Preference (GSP) Plus Status. The delegation will review the steps taken regarding basic human rights including women, child and minority’s rights.
According to the important diplomatic sources that EU was given GSP plus Status to ten developing countries in 2014 including Pakistan. The purpose of this action was to gave approach of Pakistani products in European market without inflict of any tax. EU was given the facility along with subject to women, child and minority rights and forced labor condition in Pakistan.
EU Ambassador to Pakistan Jean Francois Cautain said that Pakistan has imported products of $3.4 billion including textile, leather, medical devices, chemicals, pharmaceutical products and mechanical from European Countries after given the facility of GSP Plus. The delegation of EU will meet officials of Foreign Ministry and Ministry of Human Rights during stay in Pakistan. After which, recommendation will be submitted for approval.
