SC issues show cause notice to secretary health Sindh for not disbursing salary of five months to LHW’s

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has issued show cause notice to secretary health Sindh for not disbursing salary of five months to Lady Health Workers (LHW’s).
The court has remarked salary should be paid till November 5 to LHWs and in the event of non payment of salary till the aforesaid date, contempt of court notice will be issued.
SC bench presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar took up for hearing Lady Health Workers case Friday.
The petitioner told the court that salary and outstanding arrears have not been paid to them since five months.
CJP remarked orders were issued prior to Eid but the salary has not been paid so far. LHW administers polio drops in every locality but she is not being paid salary for carrying out this service.
CJP inquired as to why secretary health has not appeared.
Assistance Advocate General Sindh said he is in meeting pertaining to Thar.
The court issued show cause notice to secretary health for not releasing salary of five months.
The court remarked “ salary be issued to LHWs till November 5 and in case this is not done then contempt of court notice will be issued.
