Rawalpindi: All of 3 Computerized Tomography (CT) Scan machines of the allied hospitals are out of order due to which citizens are forced to move towards private hospital and laboratories for CT scan on costly charges in Rawalpindi.
As per media reports, One and only CT scan machine is in working condition in Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology but CT scan of only heart related diseases is conducted here.
One part of Benazir Bhutto hospital’s CT scan machine is not working properly and it has not been got repaired since several months.
Dr. Khalid Randhawa, acting Medical Superintendent had informed Health Minister Rashida Yasmeen about faulty part of CT scan machine but Minister ignored that topic and ordered them to maintain the cleanliness of hospital properly.
The CT scan machine of DHQ hospital is also out of order from a long time and the patients of these two hospitals went to Holy family hospital for CT scan and because of heavy work load, CT scan machine of Holy family hospital has also stopped working.
All of the machines of allied hospitals are out of order right now and poor patients are forced to head toward private laboratories for CT scan where they are being looted with both hands.
About this matter the relatives of patients have said that there’s no facility of CT scan machine even in emergency, where we should go in the prevailing situation.
MS Holy family Dr. Shehzad has said that the service of machine will be completed in 3 days and CT scan will soon start functioning .
