Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Under directive of the Federal Government, National Highway Authority has launched countrywide Anti Encroachment Drive to clear its Right of Way (ROW). About 2872 encroachments points have been identified as target from various provinces to clear the Right of Way. As per details, encroachments removal activity is being accelerated at 310 locations in D.I Khan, 40 in Hyderabad, 70 in Multan, 150 in Bahawalpur, 983 in Rahim Yar Khan, 100 in Batkhela, 24 in Wazirabad, 45 in Lahore, 950 in Rawalpindi and 200 locations in Swat.
As a result of this campaign 61 locations have been cleared from encroachments in Multan, Bahawalpur, Wazirabad & Rawalpindi, while notices have also been issued to vacate NHA land. 11 weeks long this campaign will continue by December 09, 2018 and Chairman NHA Mr. Jawwad Rafique Malik is supervising this activity personally on daily basis to achieve the target. NHA has chalked out a comprehensive plan to make this drive result oriented.
