Islamabad: (Parliament Times) After a long hectic consultations the Pakistan Muslim League -AJK chapter has finally issued ticket to Sardar Aamir Altaf Khan to contest bye-elections in Halqa No 2, Hajira, the seat, which was left vacant after the demise of Khan Bahadur Khan (KBK) who passed away last month after a protracted illness.
Altaf the KBK’s grandson who has been nominated as the party candidate by the ruling party was one of the other aspiring potential candidates including Sardar Zia, Sardar Arzish and Ejaz Nisar. The bye-elections are scheduled to be held on 21 October. Pakistan Peoples Party had issued ticket to former Assembly speaker Sardar Ghulam Sadiq whereas the PTI’s Sardar Sawar Khan and MC Kashan Masood are also in the fray. However, the ruling party’s belated decision to nominate its candidate is said to have weakened its position in the constituency.
