Rawalpindi: Social Welfare and Bait- ul-Maal Punjab while launching a crackdown against 400 dysfunctional Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Rawalpindi has cancelled their registration besides making registration of 300 new NGOs.
According to media reports, earlier a warning had been issued to the owners of all these 400 dysfunctional NGOs while informing them they were committing negligence in performing their duties and also there was no performance on their credit and practically these NGOs have gone dysfunctional.
Divisional Director social welfare and Bait ul Maal Punjab Muhammad Aslam has said it is made clear on the time of registration that it would be binding on registered NGOs to work in line with the objectives declared by them at the time of their registration. Otherwise their registration will be cancelled.
He further said that a formal security clearance is obtained from concerned authorities for the registration of NGOs.
