WASHINGTON: US Assistant Secretary of Defense, Randall Schriver, has said Washington is fully cognizant of Pakistan’s contribution in the war on terror and values its friendship.
He was speaking as Chief Guest at a function in connection with Pakistan’s Defense and Martyrs’ Day at Pakistan Embassy in Washington.
The Assistant Secretary of Defense acknowledged Pakistan’s support to the United States in fight against terrorism, saying Washington does not take its sacrifices lightly.
He said Pakistan is a friend, supporter and key partner of the United States and would continue to be as such.
Schriver said both countries may have differences in few areas but would continue to promote quality interactions, particularly in the field of defence and security.
On the occasion, Pakistan’s Ambassador Ali J. Siddiqui highlighted Pakistan’s heavy loss of precious lives in the global war on terrorism.
He said Pakistan has emerged victorious against all the odds.
