ISLAMABAD: A total of 5290 cases received upto 31th July 2018 to missing person Commission, Islamabad. During August 2018, 59 more cases were received to Commission and now the total numbers of the cases are 5349.
The Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances, out of 5349 cases, 3519 cases have been disposed of upto August 31, 2018 with the personal efforts of Honorable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal, President, Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances, Islamabad.
It is important to note here that the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances, Islamabad during the month of August 2018 disposed of 57 cases and total the balance numbers of cases are 1830 on August 2018.
The Commission has conducted 485 hearing, 240 hearings in Islamabad, 180 in Karachi and 180 in Lahore during August 2018.
The services and personal efforts of Honorable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal, President of the National Commission for Enforced Disappearances have been appreciated as the commission has recovered 3519 missing persons upto August 21, 2018, besides ensuring their safe return to their homes.
As President of Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances, Honorable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal performed his duties for seven days a week and even on holidays without receiving any remuneration and salary. He not only gives personal hearing to each family of missing persons but tried his utmost for their earliest recovery. The relatives of missing persons have also acknowledged the remarkable efforts of Honorable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal, President, Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances.
Due to the excellent performance of Honorable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal, President, Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances and its members, the Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan has also referred more than 300 cases of missing persons to the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances for their recovery. The main reason behind the success of Honorable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal, President, Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances is said to be his commitment, dedication and sincerity to the cause of humanity.
Honorable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal has not been using government resources and pursuing the mission of recovering the missing persons and does not receive any salary while working as President of Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances. He being President of the Abbottabad Inquiry Commission, he returned Rs. 61 lacs to the Government and did not take a single penny for conducting a probe into the national tragedy. He also does not receive any salary while working as President of Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances.
Moreover, as Chairman NAB, Honorable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal has made NAB a vibrant and credible anti-corruption organization of Pakistan. He has devised a comprehensive anti-corruption strategy which has started yielding excellent results in short span of only nine months adding that NAB is ready to geared up to pursue the case of eradication of corruption with the policy of “Accountability for All”.
