Rawalpindi: Punjab government (PG) has imposed a ban on the use of mobile phones by teachers/students during office working hours in classes and staff rooms in all schools of Punjab including Rawalpindi.
Male and female students have been advised not to bring cells with them and cells of violators will be confiscated besides initiating disciplinary action against them under the rule.
Ministry of Education has issued a formal notification in this regard with advisory to all DEOs to implement the order in letter and spirit.
The action has been taken on the plaints that teachers are not taking any interest in the sphere of education instead the use of cells in class rooms and use of WhatsApp is common for messages or for games in schools throughout Punjab. Heads of schools have also received complaints that students are also using cells in schools.
