Islamabad: Director General Federal Directorate of Education has decided to plant a sapling in the name of each student in federal educational institutions.
According to media reports, DG FDE directed all concerned authorities to plant a sapling in name of each student in the educational institutions to make sure formal start of Green Pakistan campaign, launched two days before by Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan.
DG Hasanaat Ahmad Qureshi said that they will plant 2, 50,000 saplings in name of each student in 423 educational institutions of federal capital while the respective students would be responsible for the safety and protection of these plants.
He said, however, organization will provide complete assistance to student regarding sapling growth.
After incumbent government announcement of planting 10 billion saplings across the country within five years, federal education institutions while starting formal implementation on the drive launched tree-plantation drive.
Moreover, 40,000 saplings apart from federal education institutions will be planted in the Capital that includes10, 000 saplings under Metropolitan Corporation, 5,000 saplings in sides of airport under NHA, 22,000 saplings in Margalla Hills National Park and 2,000 saplings in Quaid e Azam University.
