Islamabad: The overall route of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is 7590 Km, the western route 2471Km, central route 2425 Km and eastern route consists of 2694 Km. Pakistan has a bilateral agreement of road transport with ten countries, the initial two projects including KKH Phase II Thakot-Havelian Section, Peshawar Karachi Motorway Multan Sakkar Section have cost of $ 4346m, for these projects the loan received from china’s exim bank.
While the three short-term projects also included, according the documents in the possession of the news agency , initially the KKH Phase-II has the distance of 120 Km costing US $1366m, which will be completed in 2020, and the cost was loaned by china’s exim bank.
The second project include Peshawar Karachi Motorway Multan Sakkar Section having distance of 392Km costing $2980m, which will be completed in 2019, the loan for this project also received by China’s Exim bank.
The short-term projects include the KKH Thakot, Rai Kot N-335, the cost of remaining 136 km is Rs8.54b, Khudzar-Bisma road cost of 136 km is Rs19.76b, Dera Ismail Khan-Zhob N-50 consists of 210 km up-gradation having cost of Rs81b.The long term projects of CPEC include Mangla-Mirpur- Mansehra, MM-3 road having distance of 200 Km, Naukundi.Maskhel-Panjgur road 290 km, Gilgit-Shandor-Chitral road 154 km. In the western route, Khunjrab to Hakla road, 2 lanes to 6 lane having distance of 792 km, Burhan-Hakla-DIK four lanes having distance of 1077 km, DIK to Zhob having four lanes and distance 1287 km.
Pakistan has a bilateral agreement of road transport with Iran, China, Turkey, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and India.
