Rawlalpindi: Food Branch officials of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board on Thursday during their visit to different areas of the city took effective notice of the lack of cleanliness at different shops and kitchens of sweet shops and imposed fine against those who failed to provide food safety.
Qaisar Mehmood, a spokesman of the Cant Board said that its officials have imposed a penalty of 10 thousand rupees on Nirala Sweets at Dhoke Gujran in Tenchbata area, one thousand rupee to Kashmir Nan Center and two thousand rupees to Irzam Tea Stall for the lack of cleanliness at their shops. Moreover, the spokesman said that 35 food points were checked out of which 15 food points were issued notices for substandard cleanliness at work places and for operating without licenses.
” 45 Food samples have also been taken from food outlets, confectionary stores and hotels operating in Sadar, Range Road, Misryal Road areas of the city”, Mehmood said adding that these samples were taken from Haji Bar-BQ, Salateen Hotel, Quetta Abbaseen Hotel, Quetta Bolan Hotel, Macacikian Pizza, Mr. Burger, Noor Malik point and were sent to laboratory for the test.
Mehmood said that the Food Branch officials were carrying out operations on daily basis to ensure food safety and hygiene during food processing.
Meanwhile, during its anti-Encroachment Drive the Cantonment Board officials have ceased six trucks of different items from vendors who had setup their stalls illegally on roads in different markets of Sadar, Misriyal Road, Tench Bata and surrounding areas of the city
