Islamabad: Against the backdrop of controversy over use of official choppers by Prime Minster Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Leader Ahsan Iqbal has said that if decisions were being made through searching on Google, then Government representatives were for what purpose.
He said this while talking to media men along with opposition allies outside election commission office Wednesday.
Talking about fielding joint candidate for the slot of president he said despite being the largest opposition party, the PML-N has sacrificed by not fielding it own candidate for the slot.
He claimed that a joint candidate of the opposition can secure victory as he expressed hope Pakistan People’s Party will honor the majority of opposition.
The former Minister for Interior said that “earlier it was thought that an Under-19 team has come to play but now its evident that an Under-11 (team) is into play”.
He alleged that the PTI lacks a roadmap to eradicate the scourge of money laundering as PM Imran Khan was asking the public to suggest ways.
Abdul Ghafoor Haiderry of Jamiat Ullema-i-Islam said that The PPP was a democratic party as it has offered sacrifices. Alike Ahsan Iqbal he also expressed the hope that PPP will respect decision of opposition.
“The PM talks about austerity campaign, a lie should be spoken in a manner where truth be also part of it”. Ridiculing the act of using official chopper by PM Khan he said “sasta wala” (cheap) helicopter should also be given to us.
Senator Usman Kakar of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Muslim League said “It was a litmus test for PPP to pass, and we hope that the PPP will respect the democratic forces”.
He said if the PPP doesn’t help the democratic forces it will always be answerable to the history. The PMAML senator vowed to oppose any curtailment in quota of provinces in NFC awards.
