Pilgrims converge in Arafat to perform main ritual of Hajj today

MAKKAH MUKARRAMAH: Over two million faithful, including more than one hundred and eighty thousand Pakistanis are in Maidan-e-Arafat to perform the Rukn-e-Azam Waqoof-e-Arafat.
They will listen to Hajj sermon delivered from Masjid-e-Nimra.
The Hujjaj will offer Zohar and Asr prayers together and stay at Arafat spending the whole day in supplication praying for welfare of Ummah and development and prosperity of Pakistan.
After Azaan-e-Maghrib, they will leave for Muzdalfa where they will offer Maghrib and Isha prayers together and spend the night under open sky.
They will also collect pebbles to throw at Satan the next morning.
After offering Fajr Prayer at Muzdalfa, they will leave for Mina for remaining Hajj rituals.
Meanwhile, the ritual of changing Ghilaf-e-Kaaba was held early Monday morning.
The new Ghilaf has been prepared at a cost of two hundred thousand Riyal. Six hundred seventy kilogram pure silk, 120 kilogram gold and one hundred kilogram silver have been used in it.
This ritual had started in the age of Hazrat Ismail AS and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) ordered change of Ghilaf-e-Kaaba after the conquest of Makkatul Mukarramah.
Imam Masjid ul Haram Dr. Abd ur Rahman Assudais and Governor Makka Khalid Faisal participated in the ritual.
