Islamabad: Islamabad police has issued traffic plan for Independence Day that will be celebrated on Tuesday.
According to press release, as many as 357 officials would perform duties to maintain traffic on Independence Day, a traffic diversion plan also chalked out.
SSP Farukh Rasheed said that number of roads would be closed for all types of traffic on this day from 6:00 am to end of the ceremonies.
Kashmir Highway would be closed from Aabpara Chowk to Korianwala Chowk and alternate route would be Bazaar Chowk, Sarfraz Shaheed Raod, Shaheed Millat Road and Muncipal road can be used.
Every type of traffic would be closed on Constitution Avenue from Secretariat Chowk to Convention Center and alternate would be Ayub Chowk, Marriot Hotel through Margallah Road.
Traffic from Bari Imam to Radio Pakistan would also be closed, alternate for traffic would be third road.
From Kashmir Chowk to Serena Hotel all the traffic would be closed, alternate would be Rawal Road to Faizabad, Zero Point, Faisal Avenue Margallah Road.
SSP Farrukh Rasheed said clarified that traffic police would be available for the guidance of citizens on closed roads, special squads of police would also work for the smooth traffic flow and for curbing one wheelers, reckless drivers and vehicles with heavy silencers.
