Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued the written decision on the rejected appeal of PML-N leader and former Minister of State Abid Sher Ali regarding recounting in NA-108 Faisalabad.
Earlier Higher court remarked while dismissing the petition of Abid Sher Ali had maintained that petitioner can approach proper forum as per law.
LHC Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh issued written l decision on the petition of Abid Sher Ali on Thursday.
The petition regarding recounting of votes in National Assembly Constituency NA-108 Faisalabad was filed by Abid Sher Ali.
Farrukh Habib candidate of Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) was declared winner from this constituency by getting 112740 votes while Abid Sher Ali was runner up with 111529 votes.
According to petitioner Abid Sher Ali, he lost the seat by only the margin of 1200 votes in the general election. He filed a petition regarding recount to Returning Officer (RO) but RO dismissed the petition against facts and law.
Abid Sher Ali had prayed LHC to set aside RO decision and o issue the order for recounting but his plea was rejected.
