Sabir Hussain likely to be appointed new Governor GB
Islamabad: The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leadership is likely to choose the name of Sabir Hussain, deputy information secretary Gilgit Baltistan (GB), as new Governor GB province in a reshuffle process of replacing governors of all provinces.
The PTI’s leadership had earlier hinted to replace governors of all provinces as they were nominated by the former government of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).
The PTI’s sources disclosed that currently Sabir Hussain’s name was on top amongst the six personalities of GB under considered for the slot of governorship. The other names under discussion include former DIG Haji Hashmat Khan, Doctor Muhammad Zaman former PTI Convener, Akber Hussain Akber , Justice (Reted) Jaffar Shah and Senior Vice President PTI GB Shah Naseer.
Doctor Muhammad Zaman had contested election from PTI ticket in 2015 from Darail and currently facing an inquiry in line of his clash with an officer of spy agency. Likewise, Akber Hussain Akber previously has been with PML-Q and recently joined PTI in 2015. Justice (R) Jaffar Khan had joined the party last year in 2017.
In the current circumstances Sabir Hussain was the most favorite name for the top slot of GB province. Hussain, who have a good educational back ground, also have been working as the principal of Army Public School (APS) and held the post of Coordinator Hamdard University GB Chapter for 2007-11. It was Mr. Hussain who first time introduced the PTI in 2009 in his province while contesting election with the symbol of ‘Trazu’ and remained loyal with the party despite of not awarded party ticket in 2015 and facing victimization by governments of PPP and PML-N
