Lahore: The Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association Sunday urged the incoming government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to prepare necessary changes for country’s export policy according to changing international scenario.
The Association has said that due to failed policies of the previous political governments, country has plunged into trouble in the fields of economy including exports.
This was stated by Chairman Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association Latif Malik while chairing a meeting in Lahore Sunday.
The meeting was held to discuss the different ways for arranging the International Carpet Exhibition in October. Vice Chairman Qamar Zia, Carpet Institute Chairman Saeed Khan, Member Executive and Coordinator Riaz Ahmed, Senior Member Malik Akbar, former Chairman Major (Retd) Akhtar Nazir among other were present on the occasion.
Riaz Ahmed has briefed the meeting about the preparations of holding three-day 36th International Exhibition in Pakistan and his contacts with international buyers.
He said that the annual exhibition provides an opportunity to showcase the best of Pakistan’s carpets to visitors and customers from around the world.
The Chairman said that a three member delegation head by him is meeting Secretary Trade Development Authority on Monday (Aug 06) to discuss the ways and means for holding the International Trade exhibition in October this year in Lahore.
He said that the delegation will apprise the Secretary TDAP about arrangements for stalls at the exhibition. Latif Malik said that the Association will present different suggestions for attractive incentives to Carpet Manufacturing Association in the country.
