MIRPUR (AJK)(Daily P.Times): Mirpur has won the title of National Karate Champion after its youngest team clinched victory in All Pakistan Under-15 Sokyokushin Karate Championship securing first position in the keenly contested championship held in Islamabad, it was officially declared.
The local 4-member team, led by Black-belt 3-don Khuram Pasha, the local branch chief, jumped into the championship and won the title, a spokesperson of the winners told this Correspondent here on Tuesday. A total of 150 players from across Pakistan including AJK participated in the championship – won by rising 9-year-old local lad – the Karate Champion Hashim Pasha and his comrade Abdul Mughees Arif who secured the title by defeating their closest rival team of Nowshehra, KPK province.
The country chief Pakistan Black Bhelt 6-don Shihan Raja Khalid and other organizers were also present on this occasion. Speaking on this occasion, the country chief Pakistan Black Belt Shihan Raja Khalid and others lauded the performance of the victorious national champion from Mirpur in the contests and felicitated them for the land slide victory securing the title. He described the play of the triumphant team marvelous and outstanding.
Raja Khalid assured every possible due assistance to the rising youngest stars of Karate from Mirpur Hashim Pasha and his colleagues to enable them to continue winning such titles through the best of their abilities and performance in the future contests of the fast-emerging Karate game.
He also assured to visit Mirpur soon to assess and encourage the potential of karate youth of all ages in the area, according to the spokesperson.
