Peshawar: Chairman Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has said that Pakhtuns are passing through a very critical time of history due to the wrong policies of the rulers and if they did not get united they would be pushed in further crises.
He was addressing a meeting of QWP PK-73 in connection of election campaign here on Saturday .He asked the people to select a wise and prudent leadership in the upcoming elections who should focus on good governance, rights of people, economy and to help address the current situation.
Aftab Sherpao said that irrespective of personal and political consideration the whole nation should work on war footing to save the country from further chaos.
He regretted that the so-called change champion leadership of PTI who had not fulfilled the election promises as the situation had gone out of control. He said that the promises like restoration of peace, tranquility, reforms, good governance and change had died down. He said that the masses were fed up with the unpopular and wrong policies of the PTI government and they had showed total mistrust over the leadership. He contended that the Pashtu’s had identified the true colors of theta government and it would not further hoodwink them through hollow slogans.
Aftab Sherpa has underlined the need for taking effective measures for peace in the region which was essential for the interests of Pakistan and Afghanistan; therefore, concerted efforts were required to bring an end to bloodshed in the region. He stressed the need for removing the mistrust between the two countries. He suggested contacts at the government and people’s level so as to promote goodwill and harmony for bright future.
