Lahore: Social networking website Facebook violated its own policy. Numerous pages of political party Milli Muslim League (MML), accounts of the candidates and the workers have been disabled without any reason.
According to details, Facebook administration has guaranteed special protection to pages of the political parties and accounts of their candidates in election 2018. All political parties are using social media to spread their message. Voters are being attracted by posters and video messages. Candidates are delivering advertisement material and party manifestos to the public. On the other hand, Facebook has deleted several pages and candidates’ accounts of MML, by violating its own policy.
Spokesperson MML, Tabish Qayyum, condemned Facebook attitude regarding MML. He said, “Freedom of expression is the basic right of every human and political party. In the meantime, when elections are near and each party is using social media, deleting MML’s accounts is injustice. We strongly condemn it.”
