Islamabad: The trial of former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Capt. Safdar convicted in Avenfield reference will be held in prison and the proceedings of Accountability Court (AC) will take place in Adiala Jail onwards.
Ministry of Law has issued the notification of trial in jail and ordered that trial of former PM Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Capt. Safdar convicted in Avenfield reference will be held in prison and the proceedings of Accountability court will take place in Adiala Jail onwards.
The order of trial in Adiala Jail has been issued under the Section 16 of National Accountability Ordinance. Convicted and sentenced in Avenfield reference former PM Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz reached Lahore Airport from London via Abu Dhabi.
National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) team arrested them from the airport and shifted them to Islamabad on special plane and later on they were sent to Adiala Jail.
The Accountability court has sentenced Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Capt. Safdar in one of Avenfield References whereas two references have to be decided yet.
