Rawalpindi: Chaklala Cantonment Board has chalked out a plan to plant 8,000 saplings in Cantonment under Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign (MTPC).
According to Cantonment Executive Officer Mohammad Ishaq Malik the plants will be of 6 to 12 feet in size so that the trees could survive and remain safe from the seasonal impact after the campaign is over leaving cantonment areas green and clean from air pollution.
During the campaign citizens will be provided plants free of cost for planting in their houses. Trees will also be planted on important roads, intersections, parks and green belts of the cantonment.
