CIED disposes 3331 out of 5213 cases related to enforced disappearances

ISLAMABAD: The Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances on Thursday said that out of 5213 cases, 3331 cases have been disposed of up to June 30, 2018 due to the personal efforts of Honorable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal, President, Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances, Islamabad.
Pertinently, the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances, Islamabad during the month of June 2018 disposed of 67 cases and the balance numbers of cases are 1815 June 30, 2018. The Commission has conducted 537 hearings, 204 hearing in Islamabad, 169 in Karachi, 73 in Lahore and 91 were held in Quetta during June 2018.
As per sources, Honorable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal has been lauded for his exceptional performance as president of the National Commission for Enforced Disappearances. Due to the NAB chief’s personal interest and efforts, the commission has recovered more than 3331 missing persons, besides ensuring their safe return to their homes, according to sources.
The sources said that as president of the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances, Honorable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal performed his duties even on holidays without receiving any remuneration and salary. He has not only gives personal hearing to all the families of missing persons but also tries his utmost for earliest recovery of missing persons.
Relatives of missing persons have appreciated the remarkable services of Honorable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal, President, Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances. Due to the excellent performance of Honorable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal, President, Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances, according to the sources, the Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan has also referred more than 300 cases of missing persons to the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances for their recovery. The main reasons behind the success of Honorable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal, President,Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances is said to be his personal efforts, commitment, dedication and sincerity to the cause of humanity. Honorable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal has not using any government resources and pursuing seriously the cause of recovering missing persons by using his own resources.
