Islamabad: Following hike in fuel prices, the local transporters have unilaterally increased the fare by 20 to 30 percent without any check from the authorities.
Transporters have increased fear without getting permission from authority concerned on the routes including Jhelum, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Abbottabad, Gujar Khan, Faisalabad, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Rawalakot.
The fare from one bus stop to the other has also increased as transport operatives were charging passengers Rs20 between each bus stop without having any official fare list.
Quarrels among transporters and commuters have become a routine matter on the issue of fear increase. On the other hand transporters have viewed that caretaker government in had recently increased the petroleum prices as they compelled to charge high fear.
Commuters viewed that notification of the new fares’ rate list has not been issued yet but transporters were charging high fear without any justification.
Prices of fruits and vegetables have also increased owing in Twin-cites Rawalpindi and Islamabad owing to the hike in petroleum products.
