Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has reserved the verdict regarding the petition seeking removal of the name of Zulfi Bukhari, PTI leader and a close associate of Imran Khan from the black list.
A hearing of the petition with reference to the removal of the name of PTI member, Zulfi Bukhari from Exit Control List (ECL) was conducted by Justice Amir Farooq of IHC on Tuesday.
The lawyer of Zulfi Bukhari requested that the business, children and other family members of his client are in Britain therefore, his name should be removed from black list.
Justice Amir Farooq remarked during the hearing that things change by just making a phone call. NAB requested to put the name of Zulfi Bukhari in ECL but Interior Ministry placed his name in Black list.
??If the name had been put in black list , then how it was removed on one telephonic call later .How going to Saudi Arab is anti -state??. Justice inquired
Deputy Attorney General (DAG) told that Zulfi Bukhari was stopped to go to Saudi Arab in the interest of state.
Justice Amir Farooq further remarked that you made a rule and broke it on your own. First you placed the name in Blacklist and later you removed it yourself.
Deputy Prosecutor General (DPG) said that our plea to put the name of accused in ECL is still there.
The court reserved the decision after hearing the arguments.
Talking to media men outside the court after hearing, Zulfi Bukhari said that I hope that decision will come in my favour. I will tell the details after the decision who is behind this matter.
??My name is placed in Black list at the behest of Ahsan Iqbal. Former Interior Minister included my name in Blacklist because of his personal grdudge??, he said.
It is to be mentioned that Zulfi Bukhari was stopped to perform Umrah along with Imran Khan because his name is included in Blacklist due to the case filed against him by NAB; however, his name was removed temporarily from the black list and he was allowed to perform Umrah.
