Islamabad:(Parliament Times) At least five Kashmiri youth were martyred by Indian occupation forces in their fresh acts of state terrorism in Pulwama and Kupwara districts on Friday.
According to reports pouring in from Srinagar and other parts of the valley the occupation forces have martyred three youth in Thamuna area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district and one at Tunga-Kachama in Kupwara during cordon and search operations. The troops also destroyed a residential house at Thamuna.
A civilian, identified as Faizan Ahmad Khan, son of Dr. Abdul Gani Khan, resident of Khrew Pampore suffered a bullet injury in his abdomen after forces used live ammunition and pellets to disperse protesters who had gathered near the site of the gunfight. He was shifted to district hospital Pulwama where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Eight other civilians were also injured during the clashes, and one of them who also sustained a gunshot injury has been rushed to the bone and joint hospital in Srinagar for treatment.
Reacting over the development, people staged forceful demonstration in Chatpora and Thamuna areas of Pulwama against the ongoing military operation. The occupation forces fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters, triggering severe clashes. One more youth was martyred while several others were injured in the troops’ action.
Meanwhile, two Indian soldiers were injured in an attack on a patrolling party of Indian Army in Ahgam area of Shopian district.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference and the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in their separate statements in Srinagar expressed serious concern over horrific and fearful atmosphere created by the Indian forces’ personnel through frequent night raids on the residences of pro-freedom leaders and activists. They said that despite Indian state terrorism, the Kashmiri people would take their freedom movement to its logical conclusion, come what may.
