    ‘Holding peaceful, impartial and transparent elections our foremost priority’: Dr. Hassan Askari

    LAHORE: Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Dr. Hassan Askari said that holding of peaceful, transparent, unbiased and impartial elections is our foremost priority and every step will be taken to achieve this purpose.
    “Caretaker government will definitely succeed in complying with its national responsibility”, the Chief Minister said adding that government won’t disappoint the nation in this regard. He said that interim government is vigilant to deliver its national responsibility for free and fair elections and will provide equal opportunities to all political parties. He said that the administration will carry out its duty impartiality across the province and will perform within the framework of Election Commission. “Government has already begun to perform its duties in this respect and every possible cooperation is being extended to Election Commission”, he maintained.
    He said that all the necessary facilities will be provided to make the electoral process successful and all political parties will be given equal opportunities to participate in the election. He said that the voters will also be given the chance to use their right of vote in a peaceful and free environment. CM said that strategy has been devised to carry out elections peacefully and keeping in view this strategy we will ensure healthier environment for voters likewise all political parties will have the equal opportunity to participate in the electoral process. Along-with this, caretaker government in its limited period is taking steps to provide relief to the public by minimizing the sufferings of a common man. Dr. Hasan Askari said that the provision of education, health and other basic facilities is the government’s responsibility and remaining within our constitutional limits, we are taking steps in this regard. He directed the concerned departments to pay their duties honestly to provide basic facilities to the public. Serving humanity is not less than any worship so all departments should display their responsibilities to provide relief to the people. He said general elections are collective and national responsibility. Free and fair elections are our focus and there will be equal opportunities for all.
