ISLAMABAD: Minister for Power Syed Ali Zafar has stressed the need to focus renewable energy for sustainable development of the country.
He expressed these views during a briefing on the renewable energy sector at Alternative Energy Development Board in Islamabad.
Ali Zafar said wind and solar power are being promoted throughout the world and Pakistan needs to utilize huge wind and solar sources for power generation.
The Minister was briefed that the installed capacity of renewable energy will reach 2000 MW by the end of this year.
The Minister appreciated the initiative of establishing Pakistan German Renewable Energy Forum to promote renewable energy applications at all levels.
