Lahore: Lahore Appellate Tribunals (ATs) have rejected the appeals of minority candidates of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).
Justice Faisal Zaman Khan of appellate tribunal Lahore upheld the decision of Returning Officers (ROs) while announcing the verdicts reserved on the appeals of minority candidates of PTI on Thursday.
Mahindra Singh Pal, Youdstar Chahuhan, Haroon Gill, Ejaz Maseeh and Peter Gul had filed the appeals. The petitioners said in their appeals that PTI submitted the list of its minority candidates after the allotted time to Election Commission (EC) but the nomination papers have been rejected for want of the list of candidates.
The petitioners also said in the appeals that list is now submitted in EC, so court should nullify the decision of returning officer and declare them eligible to contest general elections 2018.
Election Tribunal has reserved the decision in respect of the candidate of PLM-Q, Zaiba Ehsan on her appeal.
She said in her appeal that Returning officer has rejected her nomination papers contrary to facts.

The appellate tribunals of Balochistan consist of Justice Hashim Kakar of High Court (HC) and Justice Ejaz Sawati.
