“Congratulates Sama Shabir Shah for securing 98% marks”
Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The former convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference (Pak chapter) and vice president of Democratic Freedom Party Mehmood Ahmed Saghar had condemned in strong terms the use of brute force and teargas shelling at Jamia Masjid on Friday.
Terming the shelling on historic Jamia Majid as a brazen attack on religious freedom Saghar said that use of pellets and teargas shelling at the grand mosque was worst form of state oppression. He said that sacrilege of sacred places by Indian troops have become a new norm in Kashmir. He said that it was unfortunate that places of worship were not safe for Kashmiris. “The blood thirsty Indian army soldiers have not even spared the worshippers”, he said adding that Indian troops have fired dozens of teargas shells at its minarets and walls besides leaving scores of worshippers and the shopkeepers grievously injured.
Urging India to adopt a realistic approach to resolve Kashmir problem Saghar said that years’ long repressive policies stand witness to the fact that genuine movement can’t be muzzled by military might or firing of bullets and pellets.
