Islamabad: Federal Minister of Information Technology (IT) Anusha Rehman has said that the employees of Telephone Industries Pakistan (TIP) have devoured their department themselves.
She was responding to a calling attention notice in National Assembly (NA) here Friday.
She said electricity was provided to whole colony with one meter and a private housing society was also provided electricity. Bill amounting to Rs 11.5 million were paid.
ëíThe salaries of the employees were transferred on 17th May. The cases regarding corruption have been sent to NAB and now it is said that why the cases have been framed against them. We have corrected the SROí2006í, she said.
Anusha Rehman further said that the salaries of Telephone Industry of Pakistan were transferred on 17th May and the salaries which were increased will be paid through some other account.
On responding to a question, she said that Telephone Industry of Pakistan is such an organization which has eaten itself. Electricity was provided through one meter to whole colony alongwith a private colony.
ëíThe relatives of the employees got jobs in the organization and they are also residing in the same colony because of this, therefore high bills of electricity and gas come íí, she held
She further said that there were 86 cases in this regard and among them 26 cases were sorted out and now they say that why the cases have been registered against the employees of the organization. Their salaries were not paid in 2017, .
While responding to another question, she said that when we came in power in 2013, it has taken two years to correct the matters. Telephone Industry was not privatized with PTCL and it was transferred to Ministry of Information Technology.
