Islamabad: National Assembly will approve today (Monday) the budget for the next fiscal year. The same day Federal Minister for Finance Miftah Ismail will wind up the budget debate and will announce steps based on amendments in Finance Bill.
Finance Ministry sources told that no basic change is being made in the federal budget.
Some amendments out of 42 proposals have been accepted in various laws of the Senate. Various concessions will be given for dairy and edible oil sectors. Income Tax upto Rs 12,00000 will remain intact.
A protest is likely to be staged from the opposition during the process of approval of the budget.
