Islamabad: Chief Election Commissioner has directed to ensure basic requirements for five thousand polling stations and CCTV cameras for sensitive ones before upcoming election.
Also directed to prepare ramps on all polling stations for special persons.
Chief secretaries of four provinces assured the proper preparation for upcoming elections.
Chief Election Commissioner Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza presided over a high level meeting of members election commission, secretary election commission, provincial chief secretaries, and others.
Meeting pointed out 470 such polling stations where there was a deficiency of water, electricity, washrooms, ramps for special persons and boundary.
Chief secretary Punjab informed the meeting that 363 out of 470 polling stations provided the basic requirements remaining 107 would be provided soon.
Chief Secretary KP told that 532 polling stations provided the required necessities, while on 694 polling stations work is under progress.
Secretary Sindh apprised that 3688 polling stations provided all the requirements, on 136 polling stations work is under progress.
