Karachi: Competitive Commission of Pakistan (CCP) has imposed a fine of Rs 10,00000 each on five companies manufacturing batteries based on fraud and violation of section 10 of the Marketing and Competitive Act.
According to sources the Competitive Commission has received complaints that most of the companies involved in manufacturing are not mentioning the complete specifications and ingredients with acid or sans acid batteries including packaging and guarantee cards. On the guarantee cards there is no mention of immense information pertaining to the material used, characteristics and suitability of use and standard. In this way the companies are misleading the consumers.
