Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will fulfill its academic responsibility of promoting awareness among the general public about the intellectual property rights, that is an essential part of strengthening a fair trade regime.
In this connection, a seminar on ‘Trade related aspects of intellectual property rights’ will be held here at the AIOU’s main campus next week.
According to an announcement here on Thursday, the event will be arranged in the connection with the World Intellectual Property Day, that is being celebrated on April 26.
It is imperative to keep the young generation (students) aware about the role that intellectual property rights (patents, trademarks, industrial designs, copyright) play in encouraging innovation and creativity.
It is also a step towards promotion of innovation and creativity in the educational pursuits, the announcement added.
