MUZAFFARABAD(Daily Parliment Times): An extra- ordinary meeting of Islamic Ideology Council (IIC) Azad Kashmir and it’s district chapters will be held at Prime Minister house on April 30.
According to a handout by IIC Secretariat, the session will be chaired by Chief Justice of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Chairman Islamic Ideology Council, Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Ibrahim Zia.
Resident Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan would be chief guest on the occasion while the daylong session would also be attended by members of the council, Ulema and Mashaikh, Chairmen and members of the district Milli Council and Chairman Islamic Ideology Council Pakistan.
The session will discuss threadbare about inter sectarian harmony and Islamic principles of unity and harmony among the different segments of Islamic society.
The Islamic ideology council was constituted under clause five of act 1997 in Azad Kashmir with the task to suggest and recommend measures for the establishment of true Islamic societies. The council under the vision of chairman Islamic ideology council also setup Ulema and Mashaikh council under the leadership of Maulana Ubaidullah Farooki.
The Ulema and Mashaikh council further setup milli Rabta council at district level to promote Unity and Solidarity among the different religious sets. There are 16 members of Milli Coordination Council at central level while eight members from districts at central level. The fundamental purpose of the Milli Coordination Council is to reform the society, promote Unity by developing a consensus among the religious scholars to deliver Jummah Sermon on one topic. As a first step the prayer leaders of the mosque being run by the government would be delivered to the prayer leaders by government twice in a month.
