Islamabad: Supreme Court dismissed the bail application of Sharjeel Memon, who was allegedly involved in advertisement corruption worth billion of rupees.
Along Sharjeel Memon, Salman Mansoor, Umar Shahzad and Zulfiqar shirani are also among accused in the case.
A three-member bench, headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa took up case for hearing.
During the hearing, Justice Khosa remarked how price of an advertisement could go up to 12500 from 400 rupees per minute.
Counsel of Memon, Latif Khosa told court that government had conduct film festival to portray soft image of Pakistan.
On this, Justice Asif Saeed said expand the culture, but that should not be on the cost of economic terrorism. He added that Memon had illegally given the permission for advertisement to media and legal rules and regulations were not followed in this connection by former provincial minister.
Justice Khosa said that doctors had damaged their reputation to issue fake certificate to accused.
