Beware; current temperature is favorable for dengue breeding says ADC

Rawalpindi:(Parliament Times) Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarter) Saima Younis while reviewing the activities of all government departments in connection with anti-dengue campaign said that due to the current temperature which is favorable for dengue breeding we need to expedite our field activities in order to curb the hotspots so that risk of dengue attack might be lessen. She directed Health department to ensure availability of proper medicines and treatment at hospitals also likewise fogging must be done properly and people to be encouraged to use anti-mosquito sprays. Saima Younis further added that there is a dire need to spread awareness among masses about the importance of cleanliness for healthy environment and make them realize that they should try to keep their surrounding clean which will be helpful to eliminate hotspots for dengue. She stressed upon the need to pay special attention of graveyards and waste stores also to make 100% hotspots visit and ensure instant case response where larva is detected positive. ADC (HQ) also ordered to devise a comprehensive plan for completing indoor and outdoor surveillance as well as gathering data so that the areas which are ignored before might be given preferences. Besides adopting all such preventive measures of destroying larva we also need to keep a vigilant eye on the reasons that make atmosphere favorable for dengue breeding, she added.
These thoughts were expressed while presiding over the weekly meeting of District Emergency Response Committee to review the anti-dengue campaign. Chief Executive Officer Health Authority Muhammad Sohail Ahmed Chaudhry, District Officer Health Dr. Abdul Jabbar, AC Kahuta Anser Hayat, Dr. Sarwat coordinator WHO, Dr Uzma Hayat, Dr Amir Sheikh, Director Social welfare Aslam Maitla, Civil Defense Officer Sanjeeda Khanum, representative of Allied departments, DDHOs and other concerned officers were also present in the meeting.
While giving detailed briefings, Dr. Sohail Chaudary CEO Health said that registration process has been completed in all three towns and indoor/outdoor dengue surveillance trainings to all is also accomplished. Furthermore he added that micro plan for ant-dengue activities have also been devised. He said that volunteers for anti-dengue campaign are given proper training in order to equip them to fight with this virus.
