Rallies held across AJK to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day

MUZAFFARABAD;(Parliament Times) Like other parts of the country, Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed throughout Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to express solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir and condemn the ongoing state terrorism by the Indian army.
Rallies, functions, and walks were held in different parts of the state to register protest against the Indian atrocities and highlight the need for peaceful resolution of the long-standing dispute.
The rally was taken out from District Complex to Press Club where speakers urged the international community to come forward for the permanent settlement of Kashmir dispute The protest rally was addressed by members of the British House of Lords, Lord Nazir Ahmad, AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan and leader of different political parties.
Lord Ahmad said that India’s inflexible attitude could put the whole region ‘s peace and security at stake.
“ United States and other global powers should break their silence and come forward to put pressure on New Delhi to find out the durable solution of longstanding Jammu and Kashmir dispute ,” Lord Ahmad added.
He said it is time to raise the Kashmir dispute at international level saying without the solution of Kashmir as per the wishes of Kashmris nobody can guarantee about the permanent peace in South Asia.
On the occasion Prime Minister of AJK Farooq Haider said that Kashmiri national will witness the dawn of freedom very soon.
“ This is the only nation on planet that sacrificed vision for the freedom struggle and the day will come when people of AJK will celebrate independence day in Srinagar and Jammu, AJK PM Haider added.
He said today ( Saturday) All Parties Conference (APC) of all AJK political and religious parties here will decide how we can expose the rising human rights violation and state terrorism in IOK.
On the solidarity day pro-freedom and anti-India rallies were also taken out in Sudhanoti , Neelum, Jhelum Valley, Bagh, Rawalakot, Haveli, Kotli , Bhimber, Mirpur , and other districts.
Absentia funeral prayers were also offered in all mosques across the region following the Friday prayers
