PESHAWAR: An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) in the wee hours on Saturday.
Strong tremors were felt in the areas of Peshawar, Nowshera, Dir, Bajore, Hungu, Malakand Agency and adjoining areas. The tremors were felt for 15 seconds causing panic among the people.
People came out of their homes reciting Kalma Tayyaba.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the border region of Afghanistan and Tajikistan with a focal depth of 230 kilometres.
No loss to life or property due to quake has been reported so far.
