MIRPUR: (Parliament Times) “The government is determined to facilitate the educational institutions – both in private and public-sector in AJK, with due latest infrastructural facilities to ensure the dispensation of quality education in line with the needs of the modern age”, said Muhammad Tayyeb Chaudhry, Commissioner Mirpur division.
He was speaking as chief guest at the annual prize distribution ceremony of Baria Foundation College, Mirpur campus, hereThursday morning.
The Commissioner revealed that the government was seriously contemplating to establish the ‘The Education City’ comprising all Mirpur-based branches of the reputed chains of the private and public-sector schools and colleges reserving sites for the construction of their own buildings adjacent to the newly-construction state-of-the art New Mirpur City, housing the Mangla dam affectees. The grand colorful ceremony was largely attended by the parents, the city elites besides the students of the college.
The kids from primary and senior sections of the college delivered attractive presentations comprising tableaus, karate and national songs, national anthem besides the events illustrated to their curricular and co-curricular activities. The audience highly enjoyed the performance by the school children presenting various items related to their academic and co-academic activities.
In her address of welcome, the college’s principal Mrs. Mussarat Anser apprised the audience of the curricular and co-curricular activities of her institution since its inception for last three years. She underlined the priorities determined by Bahria Foundation for producing quality future architects of the nation. She elaborated the future plan of the college to make the offspring acquainted o to the need of the modern age. f the knowledge through extension of the high quality education to the expectations of the students and the parents.
The college’s senior staffers including Coordinator Ms. Sadia Iqbal, Rao Hassan Ijaz and Muhammad Yahya apprised the gathering, on this occasion, said that the country-wide chain of the Bahria Foundation College with 80 branches across Pakistan including AJK ( a subsidiary of Pakistan Navy) is delivering the quality education harmonious to the need of the latest era under the spirit to meet the challenges of 21st century through the coming generations.
Addressing the ceremony, Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Tayyeb called upon both the private as well as public education sector to play an active role for the eradication of illiteracy from its roots and with special focus to raise the rate of literacy through delivery of quality education in the country including Azad Jammu Kashmir.
“We will have to produce the quality future architects of the nation to enter the ranks of the developed nations through extending quality education harmonious to the need of the modern age”, he said.
Muhammad Tayyeb continued that maximum individual and collective efforts should be made by both private and public sector educational institutions to eradicate the menace of illiteracy from the country from its roots. He observed that without the active participation of the private sector the said task could not be achieved by any government of a third world country in their meager resources.
He appreciated the college management for producing the quality nursery of the students through extending required quality education since the just advent of their educational carrier.
The Commissioner also praised the high performance by the kids in various items through developing full confidence and exposure during the course of their stage performance on this occasion.
