LAHORE: The sit-in of lady health workers at Lahore’s Mall Road entered third day on Wednesday after the negotiations of government body with the protesters ended in futile.
A large number of protestors are demanding a revise in service structure and payment of outstanding dues.
The protest which was staged at Charing Cross on Monday later turned into a sit-in as protestors chanted slogans and blocked traffic. One of the protestors was shifted to the hospital on Monday after she fell unconscious.
Commuters were troubled by the protest which continued late into the night on Monday and Tuesday blocking roads connecting to Mall Road.
Protestors say they will continue the sit-in till their demands are met.
Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed also made way to the sit-in on Tuesday to express solidarity with the protesting lady health workers.
