CDA board rejects claim of MPHS of Rs 1.26 billion.

Islamabad: CDA Board has rejected the claim of Rs 1.26 billion of Multi Professional Housing Society (MPHS) and gave approval to take back Rs 20 million from the society which was paid in advance.
The Board has also declared null and void the decision of the CDA board of 2012 in which the claim of the society was agreed upon in principle and made conditional to the attestation of audit firm.
According to sources CDA Board meeting was held under the chairmanship of its chairman, in which member administration Mohammad Yasser Pirzada, member finance Dr. Fahd Haroon, member planning and design Assad Mahmood Kayani, member engineering Shahid Sohail and member state management Khushhal Khan attended the meeting.
Member Planning and Design and member Estate has presented a summary pertaining to the payment of funds to the society. The board was briefed that in the plan in question the claim of payments made by private scheme contains a huge amount and society has not documentary proof. There is no legal base for payment of Rs 1.26 billion to private society and CDA board should review its decision of 2012 and at that time approval had been given considering the claim justified.
It is pertinent to mentioned here that in 2008 CDA Board in Sector E-11 on 53 acres land had signed a joint venture for developing a housing society with
MPHS under which society had to take possession of the land and develop it. And this agreement was of 60/40. The Supreme Court has taken notice of it in 2009 and on 15 April 2011 was rejected as it was against the ordinance. An 8 member commission was constituted on the matter in June 2011. In 2012 society claim of Rs 1.26 billion was declared correct and attested by a private charter firm.
CDA has submitted the report in 2013 in the supreme court, the court expressed its reservations on the report. Following this CDA made initial payment of Rs 20 million and withheld the remaining payment of Rs 1.26 billion.
