ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has rejected contempt of court plea against PPP leader and former interior minister Rehman Malik being infructuous.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) MIan Saqib Nisar took up the case for hearing Wednesday.
Latif Khosa counsel for Rehman Malik while advancing arguments during the hearing of the case said contempt of court case decision has been rejected in intra court appeal. The matter of contempt of court has become ineffective after intra court appeal.
CJP remarked “ such cases will come up to be seen within two weeks which have not been touched ever by any one.
Rehman Malik thanked the court for disposing of the matter saying he as interior minister kept on appearing in the court for five years in connection with hearing of this case.
Latif Khosa said “ such Khudayee Khidmatgars keep on filing such petitions.
CJP remarked “ I have rejected 55 more petitions of Khudayee Khidmatgar in chamber.
A 3-member bench of SC led by CJP Mian Saqib Nisar adjourned the hearing of the contempt of court case against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for two weeks on the plea filed by his counsel seeking adjournment.
