SC summons interior minister, interior secretary in overseas Pakistanis identity card fee case

Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) has summoned Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Interior Sectary Arshad Mirza in the case pertaining to overseas Pakistanis national identity cards fee.
Court has ordered Ahsan Iqbal to appear in person and inform that why the summary of NADRA has not yet been approved.
A 3 members bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar took up the case regarding change in issuance fee of identity cards of overseas Pakistanis for hearing here on Monday.
During course of hearing of case, CJP remarked “On what basis the government has returned the summary pertaining to fee? “
What is the reason behind returning the summary regarding change in identity card fee ?
CJP while addressing Chairman NADRA has remarked that if they don’t want to decrease the cost then on the basis of your summary we will decrease the prices by constituting commission.
Expenses are being collected from the overseas Pakistanis which were spent on the offices opened fifteen years back, he observed.
Court has ordered Interior Minister and Interior Sectary to appear before it on Monday.
Interior minister should tell the court as to why chairman NADRA summary has not been approved so far, the court remarked.

Court has adjourned the hearing of the case till Monday on the request of Chairman NADRA
