3 new routes approved to run air-conditioned buses in Twin-Cities

Islamabad: The Twin Cities’ Administration has approved three new routes for running air-conditioned public transport to facilitate the commuter of the twin cities.
The approved routes having their origin and destination points include Pak secretariat to New Islamabad Air Port, Secretariat to Rawat and Rawat to Benazir International Airport.
A fleet of around hundred buses will be plied during the first phase.
The aforementioned routs are only allocated for the air conditioned coaches where no such public transport service has been operated in the past.
Applications from private transport companies have been sought to approve the permits.
The service is expected to be started form April 2018, where it will facilitate around 500,000 commuters daily.
Rs 30 fare is expected to be charged to citizens from stop to stop.
