Wajid Zia submits papers in Avenfield properties reference against Sharif family

ISLAMABAD: Prosecution witness Wajid Zia has filed Qatari prince letter, draft of mutual agreement between Al- Taufiq Company and Hudaibiya Paper Mills, Hudaibiya Paper Mills director report, Nelson and Nescol company land registry in respect of London flat and documents related to Kombar company in Accountability Court during hearing of Avenfield properties reference against Sharif family.
Judge Muhammad Bashir Khan of AC took up for hearing Avenfield properties reference against Sharif family Friday.

Joint Investigation Team (JIT) head Wajid Zia appeared in the court along with four boxes containing documents.
Wajid Zia presented Qatari prince Hamad bin Jassim, July 6 original letter in sealed envelope in the court.

Counsel for Maryam Nawaz, daughter of former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif raised the objection Wajid Zia is presenting some other letter now.

Khawaja Haris legal advisor to Sharif family said it should be brought on record that the letter which was presented a day before is different from this letter.

Wajid Zia said it was not the letter a copy of which he had presented a day before. The letter which he has filed today he has brought it from supreme court. The previous day letter was received from foreign office through fax.

The court ordered that copy of today’s letter be provided to defence lawyer.

Wajid Zia also filed draft of mutual agreement between Al-Taufiq company and Hudaibiya paper mills in the court.

Amjid Pervez raised the objection saying that this draft does not fulfill the conditions of law of evidence.

Wajid Zia said he had obtained these documents from NAB.

Wajid Zia also presented Hudaibiya papers mills director report in the court.

Amjid Pervez said this report is irrelevant and unacceptable.

Khawaja Haris raised objection that the documents presented are the copies taken from Photostat copies. The documents are not verified documents too.

Wajid Zia said this report was also there with the miscellaneous applications filed in supreme court.

Nelson and Nescol company registry about London Flat was also submitted before the court. This was made part of court’s record. Comber company documents were also presented in the court.

Amjid Pervez counsel for Maryam Nawaz also declared them irrelevant saying the record is copy of documents filed in supreme court.

Mossack Fonseca letter regarding financial investigation agency Nelson and Nescal and petition filed by Imran Khan in supreme court were also made part of court’s record with objection.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till Marc h 20.
