Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Pakistan Peoples Party (AJK chapter) is all set to launch membership drive in Azad Kashmir under the headship of district president whereas the party’s technical team would work in tandem with the office bearers to provide necessary technical assistance in this regard.
The decision to this effect was taken during a high level meeting here on Wednesday, which was presided over by the PPP president Ch. Latif Akbar and attended by member CEC Sardar M Yaqoob Khan, Faisal Mumtaz Rathoer, Sardar Ghulam Sadiq, Ab. Salam Butt, Matloob Inqilabi and several others, whereas the meeting was specially attended by district chiefs and general secretaries of the party. The participants of the meeting devised a comprehensive policy so as to make membership drive more productive. The PPP leaders in the meeting agreed to hold phase-wise organizational workshops so as to create political awareness amongst the workers. It was decided that the first workshop would be held on 24 March in Islamabad Office. Party workers from district Neelum, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Sudhnoti and Hatianbala would attend the workshop scheduled to be held in last week of this month.
Speaking on the occasion the PPP president Ch. Latif Akbar said that camps would be setup at district, tehsil and village level so that the PPP’s message reaches to every household. He said that since Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardar was passionate about membership drive the PPP-AJK chapter would pool in all its efforts to bring more people in the party fold. He said that by setting up a new record the PPP will prove once again that it was the most popular and pro-active political entity of the region.
