AJK PM pays eulogizing tributes to K H Khursheed on his death anniversary

Muzaffarabad:(Parliament Times) Paying rich tributes to former AJK president Khursheed Hassan Khursheed on his 30th death anniversary, the Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Mohammad Farooq Haider Khan has said that we are proud that there was a Kashmiri who struggled in making Pakistan.
“Khursheed was great politicians and a noble human being, people like him born in centuries”, the AJK premier said this while addressing a ceremony held here on Sunday to marks 30th death anniversary of Kashmiri leader who had the privilege to be the private secretary of Pakistan’s founding father Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Liberation league leader Manzoor Qadir Dar, Ex- Minister Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, Hanif Awan, Sheikh Aqeel ur Rehman, Zahid Akram Advocate, Gullshad Butt, Malik Munawar Awan and others also addressed the occasion.
Terming Khursheed as a man of honesty and integrity the AJK PM said that when K.H Khurshid died, he had just 37 rupees in his pocket. To the contrary he said, “There are a number of people who had not even a single penny in their pocket but after assuming the power they suddenly became wealthy”. Recalling his old memories the PM added that working with K H Khursheed in the 1985 assembly was the best period of his life saying that the deceased leader used to exhort him specially.
About the current situation in the region Prime Minister observed that all political forces’ favor was required for the joint consensus effort regarding the abolishment of Kashmir Council besides amendments in Azad Jammu and Kashmir interim Constitution Act 1974.
“At this crucial stage, when serious efforts are being made for AJK, all stake holders should play their supportive role in this regard”, the PM said adding that political worker belonging to any party must be respected. He said that I am grateful to the Prime Minister Pakistan who presided over the meeting regarding Constitutional amendment and endorsed it according to the hopes and expectations of Kashmiris.
Prime Minister also lauded the politicians who supported him, saying that “I am grateful to all political leadership including Barrister Sultan Mahmud, Jamaat-i-Islami and PPP for supporting our endeavors to abolish Kashmir Council and constitutional amendments”. Prime Minister Azad Kashmir said that we should appreciate the people who always mention their identity as Kashmiris. “The new generation is unaware of history, it is our responsibility to apprise our younger generation of the history”, he said.He also condemned the house arrest of Hurriyat leaders in Indian occupied Kashmir including the massacre of youth by Indian forces.
